Painting with a chicken?

On a recent trip to Durham last month, I had a chance to paint with a friend and great artist. He is extremely gifted and wants to put his art up for sale. He really inspired me to tap into my creative side and not worry about the final outcome, but the experience of simply putting paint on a canvas. Take a look at some of his very vibrant work. Oh and of course the last image is of one of mine-which just so happens to be the lyrics of my favorite Christmas carol. Enjoy.

Saturday was an amazing day. We had the joy of spending time with this precious family. Brad and Rebecca have been a constant blessing and their children are always a delight to us! They are always so happy, full of laughs and so easy to photograph. They also have the cutest kids around!

Ahoy! Bluewater Bay Marina!

I have a lot to be thankful for this time of year. One thing I can say is that I really enjoy my neighborhood, Bluewater Bay. We have a beautiful golf course, tennis complex and marina. It's a small paradise, nestled between the sandy beaches of Destin and the quaint town of Niceville. I have always loved sailboats, as my grandparents once upon a time owned one, Serendipity. I vowed to my grandfather if I owned one of my very own someday, it would be named Serendipity II. While living here, I've sailed a time or two with our kind neighbors and had a chance to photograph the beautiful vessel. I loved it and am thrilled to post up and around our marina this flier. On home to Houston

I've traveled home last week for a dear friend's wedding and to watch my mother in her element for a great cause. It was my first trip home, and thought it deserved it's very own post. It was a bittersweet visit, one that I will remember for a long time. It was filled with a lot of pink, laughter and memories of a lovely Miss Danielle McGee turning into a beautiful new,  Mrs. Danielle Mitchell.
